Dr. Kimon Bekelis, MD, FAANS, FACS, FAHA is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in minimally-invasive, endovascular neurosurgery—as well as Gamma Knife Radiosurgery and complex spine and brain operations. He is one of the most prominent and widely-published stroke researchers in the country and is the author of over 110 peer-reviewed journal publications and ten book chapters.
Dr. Bekelis obtained his medical degree at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and spent a year as a postdoctoral research fellow in neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He completed his neurosurgery residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where he served as the chief resident and held fellowships in cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
