Dr. Borimir J. Darakchiev, FAANS, FACS, is a board-certified, expert neurosurgeon specializing in cranial, spinal and peripheral nerve disorders, degenerative disc disease, intractable facial pain, hemi-facial spasms, and peripheral nerve entrapment disease. His clinical expertise includes the surgical treatment of brain tumors, brain metastasis secondary to cancer, meningioma, pituitary adenoma, and acoustic neuroma.

Education

Dr. Darakchiev received his medical degree from the Medical University in Varna, Bulgaria, and completed his neurosurgical residencies at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio and the Medical Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria. He then obtained his fellowship training in Neurosurgical Oncology and Spine at the University of Cincinnati and then in Neurotrauma and Stroke at Weill-Cornell College of Medicine in New York.
